Been there, done that

Excellent post by Christine Spurr: http://myskatingjourney.blogspot.com/2012/03/feeling-discouraged.html?m=1

She’s where we’ve all been. When we think this thing we love so much will be the death of us…after a nasty fall…after a near miss with a car, bike, ped or dog…after an upchuck relay or pyramid of puke drill…after giving your all and still coming up short. Been there, done all of it and more. I’ll be the first to admit that sometimes, when I’m facing down a mile and a half of uphill pushing into a headwind, or I’m staring down spandex clad butts pulling away from me with 8 laps to go on a 100 lap “warm up”, I wonder what the hell I’m doing this for. All I know is that I must be getting something out if it other than the pain. After all, I keep coming back fir more. That’s ’cause it ALWAYS gets better. Even on those top days when you think it couldn’t possibly get any better. If you stick with it, it will get better. And here’s a secret…your definition of what “better” is changes over time. No joke.

So Christine, Never Surrender! You will prevail and achieve your skating dream. Till then, in the words of Jondon Trevena, “Suck it up, Buttercup!”

If you were a dude, I’d say, “don’t let the winter bluz take the lead outta yer pencil!”
